Haiku Creations

Something in the back of my mind has said “haiku” for quite sometime now. Not even knowing exactly what it was, I looked it up on the Internet.  My basic instructions for writing Haiku came from this website:

As if I have done this many times before, the words flowed. With the words, the images came also. Sometimes it’s difficult to know which is first, the words, the images. They are inseparable. As I see, so the words flow. As I write, the images arrive. Even the fonts matter.

My initial intent was to do a Haiku –a-day. I found the creative process of art & writing to be a more refined daily journal for myself. I plan on writing Haiku in the traditional form of seventeen syllables: five, seven, five. The numbers work for me. The complexity of maintaining the mathematical verse with the nature art & words keeps my interest peeked.

Since I made this commitment, just over a month ago, I am with a cell phone/camera in my hand constantly. It has become an all day project just by being aware of each moment, looking for the right photo, texting myself when the words flow and taking in all that life has to offer.

While surfing the net, I have found many people doing the same…Haiku-a-day. I admire the creative task and hope to follow the many people and their sites that are bringing forth words from within inspired from life as it comes at us. Kudos to all.

Well, let’s see where this goes.
