Cards Used  for Haiku

I love to buy cards…LOVE IT! Where else can you get such beautiful works of art in one small package? Sometimes many artists contribute to a single deck, sometimes only one. It’s a tribute to the artists’ life’s work… their co-creation with the universe when you purchase the cards. You are now one with them. The colors, brush strokes, lighting, personal perspectives all melt into each and every work of art on each and every card. What a compact delight. For we can follow art around the world on the internet in lieu of the museum showings that we can’t always get to and the gallery exhibitions that don’t quite fit into our schedule or the large coffee table books that we hope to become our library instead of our personal art gallery as the common man laments the lack of fine art in his /her life. So, I have condensed my quest to a more compact mode of art in transit.

To purchase and carry fine art in your pocket. How COOOL is that?! To guide you through the day if you should so choose. And if not, just to hold and gaze upon the beauty. For beauty IS in the eye of the beholder. In each card I see the eye of the artist as we meet eye to eye in that moment. I hope you can see the beauty and wonder of it all, one card at a time.

I have many decks and have had many more. As I use & share the cards with a person of interest, I will pass on the deck to the interested party. Perhaps a future gift, I think? Naw…give it to them NOW! For NOW is the moment of interest and it shouldn’t be lost. It holds that moment in time for eternity.

“Here.  It’s yours.”
“What do I do with it?”
“Follow the book. Read, play, look at the beautiful pictures, hold them. As you come to know the deck, it will guide you should you choose. It’s a simple gift.”
“…And in return, I do what?”
“Pay it forward in whatever way you can.”
“I give someone cards?”
“You can start by giving a stranger a smile. Then see where it goes from there. It’s a simple gift. Anyone can do it. It costs nothing but your will to give.”

So there you have it .…my thoughts on the cards. It’s a simple gift.
